This is a fictional bakery. Halina’s Bakehouse does not exist. The family, the address, the telephone number, the prices, the bake times and the recipes are invented, and this site was built as a design exercise. Nothing here can be ordered.

What is real: Hamtramck is a city inside Detroit with a deep Polish community and a genuine bakery tradition, and Pączki Day there is a real institution that really does close the street. The allergen information on this site is fictional too — on a real bakery’s site it would need to be accurate, because people rely on it.
