Visiting is the easy part
One building on Woodward, one block of the Cultural Center, and the best admission deal in American museums.
Wayne, Oakland, Macomb: free. Every day. That is the headline, so here it is in the largest type on the page.
The tri-county property-tax millage funds it; bring proof of residency. Everyone else pays general admission — current rates at dia.org.

Getting there
5200 Woodward Avenue, between Kirby and Farnsworth, in the Cultural Center — the Detroit Public Library faces it across Woodward.
QLine stops a block away; DDOT's Woodward routes run constantly. Driving, use the cultural-center lots on John R or Farnsworth.
Accessibility: wheelchair-accessible entrances on Farnsworth and John R, elevators to every level, wheelchairs at the coat check. The building is a 1927 Paul Cret design — the ramps came later, and they work.
