Who we are

Small, licensed, and checkable in a minute.

Verity Pest Management has worked in Berkley, Royal Oak, Ferndale, Huntington Woods, Oak Park, Birmingham and the surrounding communities since 2014. Everything on this page is either verifiable by you in a public database or it is not on this page.

Check us out properly

Here is how to verify any pest company in Michigan.

This trade is better regulated than most people realize, which is good news — it means there is something real to check rather than a phrase on a truck door.

  • License

Pesticide Application Business License — ours is PABL-00000

Applying pesticides for hire in Michigan requires this license from MDARD. Being a certified applicator is not the same thing, and the state says so directly: certification “does not allow you to legally operate a business to apply pesticides for hire.”

MDARD publishes every currently licensed business. Search the list → If a company is not on it, that is the end of the conversation.

  • Category

Ours are 7A, 7B, 7D, and the category has to match the job

Michigan licenses by what you are treating. 7A is general pest management in dwellings and food-handling establishments. 7B is wood-destroying pests — termites, powder post beetles, carpenter ants. 7D is vertebrates: rats, mice, birds.

So a company holding only 7A cannot legitimately quote you for carpenter ants in a sill plate. The list above shows categories, which means you can check the quote against the license before you sign it.

  • Expiry

These licenses expire every December 31

Annually, without exception. MDARD is blunt about the consequence: it is a violation to continue offering pesticide services after that date until renewal is complete, and that includes bidding and advertising. A January quote from a company that has not renewed is not a quote.

  • Insurance

Liability cover is a condition of the license

Michigan will not issue the license without a certificate of comprehensive general liability insurance, and sets the floor: not less than $100,000 for bodily injury per occurrence and $25,000 for property damage. Licensees have to keep it current for the whole licensing period.

So “licensed and insured” is, unusually for a trade, one claim rather than two — you cannot hold the license without the cover. Ask for the certificate anyway.

  • People

Everyone who applies anything is certified or registered

Not just the owner. Any employee of a licensed firm who applies pesticides has to be a certified applicator or a registered technician, and has to carry the credential while working. You are entitled to ask the person in your kitchen to show it.

The people

Names and faces belong here.

This is a demonstration site, so it lists roles rather than inventing technicians. On a real company’s site this is one of the pages that matters most — you are deciding whether to let somebody into your bedroom with a chemical.

  • 4Technicians, all certified, all on the payroll
  • 7A, 7B, 7DLicense categories, so the quote always matches the credential
  • 2014First year with our name on the license
  • 1Office in Berkley. No call center, no franchise

A note on this page. Most pest control sites fill this section with stock photographs of strangers in polo shirts under invented names. We will not do that. When this becomes a real company’s site, real photographs and real certification numbers go here — and the numbers will be ones you can check in the list linked above.

Why this company is called what it is

Because the whole argument of this business is that the answer to “what is it?” should come from somebody who is not paid by the treatment. Everything else — the key, the look-alikes page, the refusal to sell a quarterly plan — follows from that.

It also means we are occasionally the company that tells you to buy a dehumidifier and a tube of caulk and to stop calling pest control. That is a real outcome and we would rather it happened than not.
